Short Papers / Interactive Posters

Format

Conference Companion Summary.

For each short paper or interactive poster, prepare a two page camera-ready summary, suitable for publication in the CHI 96 Conference Companion. The summary must be in the Conference Proceedings format, and must contain the title, authors, contact information, keywords, abstract, body, and references.

Poster Sketch.

For an interactive poster, prepare also a sketch of the poster. We prefer a one-page bird's eye view of the overall poster layout, rather than many pages of detailed contents.

Conference Companion Suite Summary.

For a suite of short papers or interactive posters, prepare a one-page camera ready summary in the Conference Proceedings Format that explores the common ground or diversity of the Suite.

Authors of Summaries ONLY may choose to omit the Abstract and Keywords required in the Conference Proceedings Format.

Electronic Version.

Electronic versions of accepted short papers, interactive posters and suite Summaries will be published on the CHI 96 CD-ROM. They are due at the same time as the rest of the submission.

The electronic version of the Summary must be provided on a disk (PC or Mac). The disk should have a label indicating the disk's type (PC or Mac), the primary author, the title of the submission, and the format of the file on the disk. Acceptable formats are listed on Cover Page Three. Make sure that you indicate also the format of electronic submission on Cover Page Three.

Please note that publication schedules do not permit revisions of any materials for the CHI 96 Conference Companion and the CHI 96 CD-ROM. If the submission is accepted, the Conference Companion Summaries (two-pages for short papers and interactive posters, one-page for Suites) will be printed for the Conference Companion and copied on the CD-ROM in the form form in which each was received.

We therefore encourage authors to take the time to perfect their descriptions, both for the quality of the publication and the likelihood of acceptance.
