SIG: From Technical Writer to Information Engineer:
Adapting to a Changing Identity
Tuesday, 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Organizer
- Virginia Allen-Terry, Hewlett-Packard France
Technical communicators in the computer idustry are currently
experiencing a paradigm shift in their identity. They are being
solicited to perform such roles as technical writer, human factors
engineer, editor and documentation production specialist, and
multimedia specialist. New technologies such as the Web and
production media have caused the borders between different functional
areas to disappear.
In the SIG, people who practice or have an interest in technical
communications will have an opportunity to discuss issues, best
practices, and strategies for success.
